Welcome to PoloSkilz.com
Maybe you are like me. I am a polo addict. I
admit it. I have a problem. Hello. My name is Kim Snider and I am a polo addict.
If you are wondering why I created the PoloSkilz Network, I confess ... it's my
I love polo. I love watching it. I love playing
it. I love being around the horses. I love to stick and ball. I love the smell
of hay and grass and fresh shavings. I love getting my hands dirty. I can't get
enough. In fact, when it comes to polo my motto is, "Too much is never enough!"
I also want to be good - or at least as good as
I can be given whatever limitations I have in terms of god-given talent, time
Oh! You too?
I am willing to bet you are a lot like me. I
will never be 10 goals. I won't even be 5 goals, or 3 goals. I may even always
be a 0. (Oh, I hope not!) I am not a gazillionaire and I have a family and a
company to run outside of polo. I can't afford to hire Adolfo Cambiaso or a full time coach. But I love polo and if I am going to be a
0, I want to be a damn good 0!
I don't know about you but I find this very
frustrating. So, I started racking my brain about how best to become the best
polo player I can be, given my specific situation.
In real life, I am a financial advisor. I am an
author, a professional speaker and financial radio talk show host. I built my
financial advisory firm on a concept I learned from fellow speaker Zig Ziglar:
You can have everything you
want in life if you will help everyone else get what they want.
In my non-polo life, I have always specialized
in taking the knowledge locked up in the heads of a few experts and making it
available and understandable for the rest of us. I did it in technology. I did
it with investing. So why not polo? Why not help others deepen their
understanding of the game and in so doing, deepen my own?
Yes! Why not?
So, with the blessing of my very tolerant
husband and the help and guidance of some wonderful collaborators, I created the
PoloSkilz Network to give serious polo players (and me) the first ever,
state-of-the-art, online polo instruction community. In very short order, we were able to pack the site with actionable information you (and I) can use …
wherever you are and regardless of your current level of involvement in polo …
to take (y)our skill and love of the game to the next level.
The vision of the PoloSkilz Network is to use
the power and leverage of audio, video, community and the Internet to help you
become a better polo player and in so doing, to strengthen our sport by
improving the level of play, the opportunities for play and the level of
enjoyment for all.
We are extremely pleased and gratified that the United States Polo Association shares that vision.
As of June 7th, 2012, the PoloSkilz Network is the official online training site of the USPA. The USPA is
graciously making the PoloSkilz Network available free to everyone - USPA members or not - on a six month trial basis.
And we don't plan to stop there. The USPA has also contracted with PoloSkilz to bring you a series of monthly
webinars featuring our expert PoloSkilz contributors. Have a topic you would like to see covered? Drop us a line.
So, if you are not currently a member of the
PoloSkilz Network, I hope you will take advantage of this free gift, from
the USPA, to check out all the resources that are currently available on
PoloSkilz.com and that you will become one of the tribe. Your participation
supports our efforts to raise the level of polo and in some small way, to
contribute to what PoloSkilz contributor, the late Major Hugh Dawnay, referred to as "the
full glory of polo."
To ensure this benefit continues in to the future, please give us
feedback. Please take the time to rate each item. This lets us know what you
find valuable, so we can do more of that, and what wasn't, so we can do less. If
there is something you would like to learn more about, or someone you would like
to learn it from, let us know. Every page of the site has a place where you can
send us feedback on how PoloSkilz Network can help you improve your game.
And by all means,
please express your appreciation and gratitude to the USPA Board of Governors and our
expert contibutors for their time and effort. Without them, this wonderful resource would not be available.
I look forward to meeting all of you online or
on the field. Meanwhile, here is hoping every ball you hit travels long and
